Spiritz on the Water

On Saturday 25th April Severn Spiritz took part in the Henley Junior regatta. 

It was a very wet journey in the mini-bus but when we got there the sun was shining.  We all helped put up the gazebos and then found out when our first race was.  We were paddling in 10-man boats which felt really funny compared to our Severn Spiritz boat.

Our first race was against the Wrmlyns from Wokingham Canoe Club and we won by 14 seconds. The day was getting better when we also won our second race, against Woodley Scouts, this time by 33 seconds.  In round three we were against The Warriors and we fought hard but we were just beaten at the end.  This put us in the minor final which again we just lost to the Warriors on the line.

 We all had a really fun day, came 4th overall and brought home a cup for being the best named crew!
